Detroit Science Center reopened as the Michigan Science Center

Just after Christmas the Michigan Science Center opened their doors.  The old Detroit Science Center is now the Michigan Science Center.  We will be making our way to their location this week and taking a ton of pictures to share with you.  But for now, here is some great info about our new and improved Science Center:

The Michigan Science Center(Mi-Sci) is a unique, fun and dynamic hands-on museum, offering programs that inspirechildren and their families to discover, explore and appreciate science,technology and math in a fun, dynamic learning environment. Through aninteractive approach to science with engaging, hands-on exhibits, shows andactivities, Mi-Sci strives to help launch the next generation of Michigan’s engineers, scientists and innovators, andsignificantly impact the cultural and economic renewal of Detroitand Michigan.

Mi-Scifeatures five theaters, including Michigan’s largest screen at the ChryslerIMAX® Dome Theatre; theDassault Systèmes Planetarium; the Toyota Engineering Theater; the DTE EnergySparks Theater; the Chrysler Science Stage; a 9,800 square-foot TravelingExhibits Hall; hands-on exhibit galleries focusing on space, life and physicalscience; Kids Town just for pint-size scientists; and, education and outreachprograms.

LOCATION:         The Michigan ScienceCenter is located in Detroit’s Midtown at the corner of John R Street and Warren Avenue at 5020 John R Street, Detroit MI 48202. The Science Centeris easily accessible from all major interstates.

MEMBERSHIP: Members of the Michigan Science Center receive FREE admission to permanentexhibit areas, free or discounted admission to the Chrysler IMAX® DomeTheatre, Dassault SystèmesPlanetarium and most special exhibits, along with free or reduced admission atmore than 300 ASTC science museums worldwide and much more. Annual membershiplevels include:                          
Premium Family: Two adults, all children in household under the age of 18, PLUS up to two guests each visit. $170
